13. Website and Blackout Calculator
When you visit the Sheltr website, the hosting provider may process standard request information such as your IP address, browser or user-agent, requested page, and request time to deliver and protect the site.
For visitors in the United States, the blackout calculator uses limited product analytics to understand whether people start the check, reach each section, finish it, and open the App Store. Requests outside the United States are discarded at Cloudflare before the event body is read or forwarded to Mixpanel.
- Blackout calculator answers stay in the open page and are cleared when it reloads. The calculator does not put answer values, household size, or chosen duration in the URL, cookies, local storage, or analytics event payloads, and it does not send those values to Sheltr.
- The calculator may send limited interaction events through a same-origin Cloudflare Pages endpoint to a Mixpanel project hosted in the United States. Cloudflare uses IP-derived country information at the endpoint to discard requests outside the United States; the country value is not added to the Mixpanel event. Accepted events may include the step reached, navigation action, validation question category, result and App Store call-to-action activity, event time and order within the page load, calculator version, a coarse referrer category, and specifically approved campaign codes. A validation category for a conditional question can reveal which follow-up was visible and can indirectly imply part of an earlier answer. Sheltr does not use these events for sale, cross-context behavioral advertising, or an advertising profile.
- The calculator creates a random identifier for one page load so those interaction events can form a completion funnel. It is cleared from the browser on reload and is not stored in cookies, local storage, or the URL. Events already sent, including this identifier, are retained for up to two years from the event date. If the Mixpanel project is deleted or reset, permanent deletion may take 60–90 days. Analytics events do not contain the full page URL, query string, referrer, email or account data, answer values, or a persistent visitor identifier. The browser request does not include cookies or a referrer header. Mixpanel is instructed not to use the request IP for analytics enrichment, but Cloudflare may include it in transport headers that Mixpanel processes to receive and protect the request.
- Website pages load typefaces from Google Fonts. Your browser connects to Google to request those resources, and Google handles that request under its Privacy Policy.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version will be posted with a new effective date.
